Earlier today, Barcelona were dealt a fresh setback in their efforts to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor as La Liga and the RFEF issued a joint statement confirming that new licenses will not be issued to the pair.
The stars, who have been de-registered and without a license since December 31, have faced the situation with calmness and great patience, although reports suggest that they are unsatisfied with Barça because of the whole saga.
As such, SPORT reports that Barcelona president Joan Laporta held a private meeting with Dani Olmo and Pau Victor during his visit to the club’s training facilities earlier today.
The president spent considerable time with the players, explaining the current status of their registration process. He apologised to the duo and reassured them, reiterating the club’s full confidence in resolving the matter.

Both La Liga and the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) have maintained their refusal to register the players.
As a result, Barcelona plan to escalate the issue to the Higher Council for Sports (CSD) in hopes of finding a resolution.
Understandably, Olmo and Victor expressed their concerns during the meeting. Laporta apologised to both players, acknowledging the situation’s challenges and admitting that he had expected a resolution to be reached much earlier.
Olmo and Victor were present at the training facilities earlier today even though they were not called up for the Copa del Rey clash against UD Barbastro due to them being de-registered.
Barcelona remain optimistic that both players will be eligible to participate in the Spanish Super Cup, despite the semi-finals being just days away on 8 January.
