According to Mundo Deportivo, FC Barcelona remain actively engaged in negotiations with Club Brugge as they push for the signing of Jesse Bisiwu, as the Catalan club look to strengthen their attacking options for the future.

Talks between the two clubs are ongoing, although an agreement does not appear to be close at this stage.

Barcelona intent on Bisiwu

Bisiwu, who is under contract with Club Brugge until 2027, would require Barcelona to pay a transfer fee. Discussions are currently centred around this scenario, with both parties exchanging information but progressing slowly.

The 18-year-old winger’s situation has been under close review by Barcelona’s sporting department.

Contact between the clubs has intensified in recent months, including during the recent UEFA Youth League Final Four, where Barcelona continued to monitor the player closely.

A trip to Belgium in January by sporting director Deco and head of scouting Joao Amaral initially appeared to accelerate the process.

Shortly after, the teenage winger’s agent publicly reinforced the growing interest from the Spanish club. However, despite early optimism, negotiations have since slowed.

During the Youth League Final Four in Lausanne, Switzerland, Amaral held a meeting with Club Brugge’s sporting director Devy Rigaux.

So far, there has been no agreement reached, but a potential deal is still not ruled out. In Belgium, it is understood that the two clubs remain some distance apart in their valuations.

Club Brugge are reluctant to sell Bisiwu, who currently plays for their reserve side, Club NXT. Nevertheless, the Belgian club are aware that the player could become a free agent within a year if no contract agreement is reached.

For now, negotiations continue, with Barcelona maintaining their interest but still needing to bridge the gap to secure the promising youngster.
