Barcelona reach complicated agreement to sign key transfer target | OneFootball

The brass at La Liga giants have reached an agreement with Espanyol star Joan García, over the terms of a summer move to the club.

That’s according to Spanish outlet Carrusel Deportivo of SER, who have provided an insight into the terms of what looks set to be a complicated deal.

The name of goalkeeper Joan has of course dominated the headlines at Barcelona across the day to date.

This comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that the 24-year-old – fresh off nothing short of a spectacular campaign on the books of Espanyol – has made his way firmly onto the summer transfer wishlist at the Camp Nou.

And if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media on Sunday evening is anything to go by, then the Blaugrana look all set to land their man.

As per Carrusel Deportivo, Deco and co. have found an agreement with Joan and his representatives to join forces this summer.

Barcelona have proposed something of an unusual deal, which would see the Spaniard spend next season out on loan at Valencia.

This comes amid the expectation that Marc-André ter Stegen and Wojciech Szczęsny will both stay put with Hansi Flick’s side for 2025/26.

And Joan, for his part, has given his ‘okay’ to such an operation, eager to rack up as much game time as possible before taking his talents to the Camp Nou in the summer of 2026.
