Barcelona’s pursuit of Julian Alvarez has received an encouraging development after fresh reports suggest the Argentine forward is not considering a move back to the Premier League this summer.
According to journalist Pedro Morata, interest from England is unlikely to change Alvarez’s plans.
Notably, Arsenal have been among the clubs monitoring the situation closely, while Liverpool have also been linked with the World Cup winner in recent months.
For Barcelona, however, the aforementioned update offers renewed optimism as the club continue searching for a marquee attacking addition under Hansi Flick.

In fact, reports in recent days have claimed that sporting director Andrea Berta and manager Mikel Arteta have both made efforts to convince the striker that North London would be the ideal destination for the next stage of his career.
Despite that interest, the Argentine appears unconvinced by the idea of returning to English football.
That stance naturally works in Barcelona’s favour, even if it does not make negotiations with Atletico Madrid any easier.
The Madrid-based club have consistently maintained that they are not keen to strengthen a direct La Liga rival.
Previous reports suggested Atletico would be more open to listening to offers from Premier League clubs than entering discussions with Barcelona, highlighting just how complicated any potential deal could become.

Barcelona are fully aware of that reality, and rather than making public moves, the club have adopted a patient approach while monitoring the situation, knowing that any breakthrough is likely to depend as much on the player’s intentions as on negotiations between the two clubs.
From a sporting perspective, it is easy to understand why Barcelona continue to admire Alvarez.
The Argentine international has developed into one of Europe’s most complete forwards, capable of playing through the middle, operating behind the striker or drifting into wide areas without sacrificing intensity.
That versatility fits perfectly with Hansi Flick’s tactical approach.
Even so, admiration alone will not complete the transfer, as Atletico Madrid remain in a strong negotiating position due to his long-term contract, while Barcelona must also balance their sporting ambitions with financial considerations before making any major investment.
