According to a recent report from SPORT, it has come to light that the Barcelona goalkeeper had not trained with the rest of the squad for the previous two days.

Instead, he focused on gym work as part of a load management programme designed to help him recover from the physical demands of recent matches.

Despite the temporary absence from team training, there is no concern about his availability, as the goalkeeper trained normally today and is fully ready to play against Sevilla.

Preparations going well

Barcelona players returned to training this Saturday, where manager Hansi Flick and his coaching staff were preparing the squad for another important league encounter.

The team has been dealing with an intense schedule over the past few weeks, facing several demanding opponents in quick succession.

Matches against Atletico Madrid, Athletic Club, and Newcastle United have required a huge physical effort from the squad.

Because of that heavy workload, several Barcelona players were experiencing fatigue after the recent run of fixtures.

The coaching staff, therefore, decided to carefully manage the physical condition of certain players in order to keep the squad fresh.

Even so, Flick still has several important absences to deal with ahead of the Sevilla game.

The Barcelona coach will be without defenders Andreas Christensen, Alejandro Balde, and Jules Kounde, while midfielder Frenkie de Jong is also unavailable.

Despite those setbacks, the return of Joan Garcia to full training represents a welcome boost.

The goalkeeper has been managing his physical workload carefully in recent days, and the club’s medical staff is confident he will have no issues against Sevilla.
