Barcelona refuse to lower demands for midfielder despite exit plans | OneFootball

The FC Barcelona players who did not participate in the World Cup 2026 this summer have already spent their vacations and are set to return to the Blaugrana club to start preseason training tomorrow, on Monday.

Among the first team players who will be available to train under Hansi Flick from the very first day would be the midfielder Marc Casado. However, his situation is somewhat complicated, as he understands that he is on the exit ramp, and his future remains highly uncertain.

It is true that the Spaniard is one of the players Barcelona have marked for sale, but according to SPORT, they are not going to let him leave for any sum. They value the midfielder at €20 million – €25 million for Saudi clubs – and are not going to let him leave for less than this sum. Casado’s agent, Jorge Mendes, is also aware of this, and is taking this valuation into consideration as he continues to look for a new club.

The Blaugrana club already had several offers which they could have availed to complete this transfer and end the last financial year with a profit. However, none of these offers exceeded €12 million, and some were only for a percentage of the player’s rights. Thus, the Catalans decided to bide their time and wait for better offers.

He could also have been a part of the operation to bring Karim Adeyemi to Barcelona, as Dortmund were interested in him, but the two players’ values made such an arrangement highly complicated, and the Blaugranes decided to get the German forward with a simple purchase.

Marc Casado has already made it clear that he would be keen to continue at Barcelona if Hansi Flick needs him, but understands minutes would be scarce next season. Still, he wants to leave only for a side that offers him a prominent role in a good project, and it remains to be seen where he would be playing next season.
