La Liga giants Barcelona have no intention of paying the sum being sought for a leading member of the club’s summer transfer wishlist.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Luis Díaz as the player in question.

Wide-man Díaz has of course seen his name dominate the headlines in Catalunya’s capital for several weeks now.

This comes amid the widespread understanding that the Colombian international has been earmarked as a priority signing on the part of Deco and the Barcelona board.

Despite ongoing links with the likes of Nico Williams and Marcus Rashford, it is Díaz who is viewed as first-choice to reinforce Hansi Flick’s frontline with a view to next season.

And yet, if the latest update on the situation to have surfaced in the Spanish media is anything to go by, then Barca nevertheless remain unwilling to meet the price point laid out by their Liverpool counteparts.

As per a report from Sport:

‘Liverpool are not willing to part with Díaz for less than 80 million euros. However, that is an amount that Barça are not going to reach and do not even intend to come close to.’

The Blaugrana, instead, consider €60 million to be a fair price for the 28-year-old.
