La Liga champions Barcelona had a team of scouts in attendance at the weekend Ligue 1 meeting between Olympique Marseille, and Le Havre.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Monday provided an insight into the situation.
Amid their ongoing financial difficulties, it is common knowledge that Barcelona are constantly on the lookout for potential market opportunities, keeping an eye on all top leagues with a view to future deals for up-and-coming talent.
This past Saturday, the Blaugrana therefore opted to take in a French top-flight fixture.
And the outing was lit up by one player in particular…
En route to Marseille putting Le Havre to the sword by six goals to two, ex-Getafe and Manchester United star Mason Greenwood managed to find the net four times.
Whilst the travelling Barca contingent were not in attendance to watch frontman Greenwood specifically, they were no doubt left impressed by the Englishman’s performance.
Sport, though, also note that:
‘The truth is that it seems difficult for the club to go for his signing, taking into account the other options in his position and his off-field controversies.’
