It is looking increasingly likely that Ferran Torres will no longer be a Barcelona player by the end of the summer. In the last 48 hours, he has agreed personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain, and the reigning European champions are getting ready to send their opening offer to the offices of Can Barca.

Barcelona are prepared to sell Torres this summer, despite the fact that he is their only recognised senior striker as things stand. They are aware that he wants to leave, and given that he has less than a year remaining on his contract, they have made the decision not to stand in his way, knowing that he can leave for free in 2027.

In preparation of PSG’s first bid coming in, Barcelona have set their asking price for Torres. As per Sport, they will ask for at least €65m to sanction a deal, believing that this valuation aligns with the money that has been spent on top-level strikers over the last 12-18 months.

PSG value Torres at €55m

If Barcelona are to get their desired value for Torres, they will need to negotiate with PSG. According to the report, the Ligue 1 giants are currently willing to pay €55m, which that including both a fixed fee and variables. The Catalans will consider this offer greatly when it arrives, although they may try to push for more, taking into account their asking price.

Barcelona are still trying to sign an elite striker to replace Robert Lewandowski, and while losing Torres will be a big blow considering the impact he has made over the last two seasons in particular, the club are reportedly not planning to sign a replacement. Summer signings Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi can both play as centre forwards, while Dani Olmo can act as a false nine, and this means that two number nines are not necessary in the eyes of sporting director Deco and co.
