FC Barcelona currently have two players on loan this season: Joao Cancelo and Marcus Rashford. Decisions must be made regarding both.
In Cancelo’s case, the decision has been taken, as the club believes that, despite initial doubts, his performance merits a permanent transfer – as long as it fits in the club’s economic plan.
In Rashford’s case, Barça have a €30 million purchase option in the loan agreement with Manchester United. However, so far, nothing has been decided.
Now, according to SPORT, a key meeting between Barcelona director Deco and Arturo Canales, Rashford’s agent, is planned for at the end of this week or the beginning of next one.
Canales, together with Rashford’s brother, Dwaine Maynard, managed the Englishman’s loan last summer.
It was Canales who led the negotiations back then and will do the same again, as the two parties plan to exchange impressions, numbers, alternatives and intentions to determine if Rashford’s continuation is possible.

Nothing has been decided yet. Despite much speculation, Barcelona have not ruled out that Rashford remains part of the squad managed by Flick.
The decision will depend on whether it fits economically and in the context of other operations planned by Deco, all interrelated, given the club’s limited resources.
Rashford, for his part, is happy at the Spotify Camp Nou, where he has had a very respectable season, contributing both goals and assists.
Meanwhile, manager Hansi Flick has repeatedly said he is satisfied with what he has seen from the 28-year-old forward, although he also highlighted that he must improve defensively.
Ultimately, the meeting between Deco and Arturo Canales will begin to clarify the possibilities of Rashford remaining a Barcelona player or returning to Manchester United.
