However, a move would be contingent on him securing a release from Al Hilal and accepting a significant pay cut.

Ivan Fresneda on Barcelona’s radar

Indeed, according to Fichajes, Ivan Fresneda of Sporting CP is a name that has been gaining weight at Barcelona.

The 21-year-old Spanish defender is enjoying an impressive season that has caught the attention of several top clubs. His development has not gone unnoticed, and Barça are now keeping an eye on him.

Fresneda is one of the most promising Spanish players in his position. Since leaving Real Valladolid, his progression has been steady, as he established himself at a competitive side like Sporting.

Barcelona sporting director Deco is said to value Fresneda’s profile highly. The plan is to bring in a right-back who can compete immediately while still having room for growth. And the 21-year-old ticks both boxes.

Sporting have no intention of making his departure easy. Although his market value is estimated at around €12 million, the Portuguese club are aware of his potential and are unlikely to accept anything below €20 million.

For Barcelona, this would represent a significant but manageable investment given their current financial situation. The Catalans are aiming to strengthen key positions without committing to excessive spending.

However, the operation will not be straightforward. After all, Fresneda’s performances have also attracted interest from other European clubs, which could drive up his price.
