Barcelona set to sign Championship sensation | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona are on the verge of tying up a deal for one of English football’s brightest young talents.

This comes amid confirmation of the Blaugrana closing on an agreement with Norwich City, for Ajay Tavares.

Tavares, for his part, is a 16-year-old attacker who chiefly lines out on the left wing, but is also capable of taking to the pitch from the right, or even in a centre-forward role.

He is an English youth international, who has long been making waves courtesy of his performances at youth level for the aforementioned Norwich.

Such talents are understood to have given rise to interest on the part of a host of clubs across not only the United Kingdom, but all of Europe.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media this weekend is anything to go by, then one such suitor now appear to have positioned themselves firmly at the front of the queue for Tavares’ signing.

As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano:

‘Barcelona are closing in on deal to sign Norwich 2009 born talent Ajay Tavares. German clubs tried to enter the race but Barça ahead and confident to close in next days. Tavares wants the move.’
