Barcelona set to sign Chinese attacking prodigy for the academy – report | OneFootball

FC Barcelona continue to strengthen their youth academy with the imminent addition of Li Haoyan, who will join the club’s academy for the 2026/27 season, reports SPORT.

The Catalan giants remain active in recruiting young talent to enhance their development squads, adding quality to teams already filled with highly promising players.

Li Haoyan will become the latest addition to the squad ahead of the next season, joining a growing list of incoming prospects, including Victor Santiago, Alex Lopez, Victor Barbany and Omri Weiss-Sharabi.

The winger, who has also represented Catalonia at the youth level, had already attracted widespread attention prior to the confirmation of his move to Barça.

Currently playing for the U-14 side of CF Damm, Li Haoyan, a winger of Chinese origin, has scored eight goals this season.

Those familiar with his game highlight his ability to take on defenders. As one observer described: “He is a very fast and extremely powerful player, he is a bullet.”

Li Haoyan has been a key figure for Damm’s U-14 team, which currently sits seventh in the Division de Honor at that level.

In a recent visit to the Ciutat Esportiva, Barcelona narrowly defeated Damm 1–0, with the goal scored by Fode Diallo. Li Haoyan started that match on the left wing. During a previous visit, he scored against Barcelona’s U-13 side in a match won 4-1 by the Blaugrana.

Last season, Li Haoyan played five competitive matches for Damm, scoring three goals. In the 2026/27 campaign, he will feature for Barcelona’s U-15 side.

Within his age group, Barcelona already have several notable wide players, including Adam Qaroual, Juan Fernandez and Alex Pliego.

Beyond his footballing qualities, Li Haoyan’s background could also hold commercial value. If he progresses through Barcelona’s academy, his Chinese origin may generate increased interest in the club within China, a key global market.
