Barcelona star admits Hansi Flick offered him a place on bench instead of starting vs Celta Vigo | OneFootball

Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski has revealed that manager Hansi Flick gave him the option of featuring off the bench in the club’s meeting with Celta Vigo.

This comes with the Pole having last night taken to the pitch as a starter for the first time in a month.

Barcelona were of course back in action on Sunday evening, making the trip to Balaídos for their final outing before the November international break.

When all was said and done, the Blaugrana managed to close the gap on table-topping Real Madrid to three points, courtesy of a 4-2 triumph.

And it was the aforementioned Lewandowski who proved himself the star of the show, courtesy of a hat-trick.

Had ‘Lewa’ taken his manager up on an offer pre-match, however, things could have played out altogether differently.

Speaking to the media in the aftermath of his Man of the Match performance against Celta, the veteran goalscorer explained:

“Flick asked me if I needed a break, but I told him that I am fine. Today I felt that I was in excellent physical condition and I am very happy.”
