Barcelona star dropped vs Valencia as punishment by Hansi Flick | OneFootball

A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has been dropped to the bench for the club’s next outing as a form of punishment.

That’s according to RAC1, who point towards Raphinha as the player in question.

Wide-man Raphinha, it is understood, had been pencilled in for a starting berth on Sunday evening.

This comes with Barcelona having welcomed Valencia to Catalunya’s capital for their post-international break return to action.

Upon the Blaugrana’s XI being unveiled, however, the Brazilian was nowhere to be seen.

Instead, summer signings Marcus Rashford and Roony Bardghji will fill the wide positions, in the absence of the sidelined Lamine Yamal.

And as alluded to above, an explanation as to why has now been forthcoming online.

As revealed by RAC1:

‘Flick has punished Raphinha with a substitute role for arriving late to the activity session. He was supposed to be a starter.’
