Barcelona starlet Pablo Torre would rather depart the club on a permanent basis than head out on loan again this summer.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Saturday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.
Torre, for his part, is fresh off a largely frustrating campaign with Barcelona in 2024/25.
Despite impressing when afforded the opportunity, the major competition for places in the attacking midfield role in Hansi Flick’s XI saw the 22-year-old restricted to just five starts across all competitions.
A summer exit for Torre, in turn, has long been rumoured in the media.
The Barcelona board are in favour of an operation which would see the youngster extend his contract for another year, through 2027, before heading out on loan.
Torre himself, though, appears to have other ideas.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:
‘Pablo Torre is in favour of an extension but isn’t a big fan of a loan because it’s not a very advantageous scenario. Clubs tend to prioritize players they own.’
Torre being sold on a permanent basis, in a deal featuring a buyback clause, is therefore looking an increasingly likely possibility.
