Barcelona star misses training before Osasuna | OneFootball

Barcelona star Gerard Martín played no part in the club’s latest training session on Thursday morning.

This comes owing to a minor fitness complaint suffered in the Blaugrana’s latest outing.

Barcelona were of course back in action on Tuesday, when they played host to Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League.

And en route to an eventual 2-1 triumph, the aforementioned Martín again featured from the off, from his new position at the heart of defence.

The Spaniard has emerged as something of a pivotal figure in Hansi Flick’s squad over recent weeks, excelling in his new role.

It may in turn have marked a concern for those of a Barca persuasion to learn of Martín sitting out group training at the Ciutat Esportiva earlier today.

As per a report from Diario Sport, though, such fans need not fret:

‘The player is fine and the club hopes that he will return tomorrow without problems, but having an important role in Saturday’s match (against Osasuna) they have preferred not to force anything.’
