Barcelona star Pedri shares his appreciation of a certain Real Madrid star | OneFootball

For every new face at FC Barcelona, there must have been a certain inspiration from the past. Emerging talents often go on to define the football of today and tomorrow, but they are themselves inspired by the legends of the past. At a club like Barcelona, moreover, there is certainly no shortage of iconic players to be inspired by.

For young Pedri, that is the case as well. The 22-year-old Spanish midfielder may have won the praise of many and may have various major titles in his trophy cabinet as well, but there is no denying the fact that he has taken inspiration from some of the greats of the game himself.

In a recent interview with Barça One, as highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, the Spaniard revealed more about his personal life and spoke in detail about certain topics as well. One of those topics touched upon player shirts and the jerseys that the Barcelona star keeps himself.

Interestingly, however, the Spaniard also mentioned a Real Madrid star and shared in detail how he admired his quality and the achievements he has. That player was none other than current Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric, now 39 years old, and Pedri’s words for him were full of appreciation:

“I have Modric’s shirt. He’s won a Ballon d’Or, and that’s not something just anyone achieves.”

Moreover, he even included the Croatian legend in his dream five-a-side team as well, one that was full of midfielders. Apart from Modric, however, it also included mostly other Barcelona players:

“Iniesta, Busquets, Xavi, Gavi, and Modric.”
