Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal is eager to put an end to his time on the sidelines. In fact, according to a report by Javier Miguel in AS, he has grown frustrated with having to watch his teammates from the stands or from the comfort of his home.
Hence, after being absent for the past three matches, the 17-year-old is now determined to take the next step in his recovery process and return to action.
Following Barcelona’s recent match against Brest, Yamal had a brief conversation with coach Hansi Flick on the pitch.
In their exchange, Flick reassured Yamal that he would be rejoining the team’s training sessions and, provided all went well, he could be called up for Saturday’s upcoming match against Las Palmas.
Yamal suffered the injury on November 6 during a Champions League match against Red Star Belgrade. Although he managed to finish the game, he did not train in the following days due to pain in his right ankle.
Initially, the injury seemed minor, but an hour and a half before the match against Real Sociedad, it was decided that he would not play due to ongoing discomfort.

After undergoing medical tests, it was confirmed that Yamal had suffered a grade one ankle injury.
For several days, the pain persisted, and as a result, he was left out of the squad for the Brest match. Despite testing his ankle on the pitch, the discomfort remained, leading to his exclusion from the squad.
However, there is now hope for a quick recovery. Flick informed Yamal after the Champions League match that he would be returning to full training with the group on Wednesday, which marks a major step forward in his recovery.
If everything goes smoothly in the coming days, Yamal is expected to be included in the squad for Saturday’s match against Las Palmas.
Interestingly, he will not be alone, as Ferran Torres is also expected to make his return to action, offering a much-needed boost for Barcelona as they look to build momentum in the season.
