The match against Haiti was mainly a cause of happiness for Brazil as the South American country saw its football team enjoy its first win in the World Cup. However, this win did not come without a significant cost, as the Barcelona forward Raphinha, one of the key parts of Carlo Ancelotti’s team, suffered an injury.
Subsequent tests on him revealed that he was suffering from a relapse of the muscle issue that he develop during a recent friendly match for Brazil. With this latest issue, he is set to remain on the sidelines for at least 2 weeks, and thus is not ruled out for a Round of 16 match, in case his team is able to make its way to that stage of the competition.
As Diario AS has reported, following this injury, the Barcelona forward took to social media to leave a message of encouragement to his followers. The winger shared some photos of him playing for Brazil over his career, accompanied with the following message:
“I chose this photo first and foremost because it reminds me where it all started.
The boy who dreamed of wearing the Brazilian national team shirt is still here. With the same dreams, the same gratitude, and the same desire to represent our country.
I love football, I love what I do, and I love wearing the Brazil shirt.
Those who know me know how demanding I am of myself and how hard I work every day to improve. And that will never change.
I will do everything in my power to recover and return as soon as possible.
I want to be alongside my teammates, fight for our goals, and continue giving everything to honor this shirt and bring joy to the Brazilian fans.
I remain strong.”
With this post, the forward has made his intent to recover from his injury and return to help his national team win another World Cup quite clear. Hopefully, he would be able to do so.
However, another notable thing from this message is the lack of any mention of his future at Barcelona. In recent days, his future at the Catalan club has become increasingly uncertain. There have been reports that he would start negotiating with Al-Hilal after the end of the World Cup, while a former Brazil international also claimed that he is facing some personal problems that can push him to a move to Saudi Arabia.
Ideally, he should have also addressed this matter in his post, but for now, the more important thing is his health, and hopefully, he would get back to his best level as soon as possible.
