An insight into the extent of the injury absence awaiting Barcelona star Dani Olmo has this evening come to the fore online.
The name of midfielder Olmo has of course proven a prominent one in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital across the day to date.
This comes after word was forthcoming that the 26-year-old has picked up a fresh fitness problem.
After being introduced off the bench on Saturday night en route to Barcelona’s disappointing 1-1 draw with Getafe, Olmo suffered what has since been announced as ‘a right soleus strain’.
As per the Blaugrana’s announcement, the club’s summer signing ‘is out for the next match’ against Benfica on Tuesday night.
If the latest word stemming from the media on Sunday evening is anything to go by, though, then Olmo could well miss more than one fixture.
As per Barca insider Javier Miguel of Diario AS, the Spanish international is set for a minimum of 10 days on the treatment table.
As much means that Olmo will also be unavailable to face Valencia next weekend, and could face a race against time to play his part against Atalanta on January 29th.
