Barcelona star ruled out of Espanyol clash | OneFootball

La Liga champions Barcelona will be forced to make do without the services of Dani Olmo for their upcoming meeting with rivals Espanyol.

This comes with the Spanish international yet to fully recover from injury.

Midfielder Olmo has for his part been sidelined since early in December, after suffering a dislocated shoulder during a meeting with Atlético Madrid.

The former RB Leipzig man has since been undergoing conservative treatment on the problem, after opting against surgery.

As alluded to above, though, whilst he is making considerable progress, Olmo nevertheless looks set to miss Barcelona’s first outing of the new year.

As per a report from Diario Sport:

‘Barring a last-minute miracle, Dani Olmo will not be ready for the first big duel in 2026.’

Hansi Flick’s Barca, in the midst of a stellar recent run of form, are primed to return to action this coming weekend in a derby meeting with Espanyol.
