Barcelona star speaks on the possibility of signing for Real Madrid | OneFootball

A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona has this week moved to make crystal clear that he would not be interested in a move to arch rivals Real Madrid.

The player in question? Gerard Martín.

Left-back Martín has for his part of course continued to play a prominent role for Barcelona across the season to date, establishing himself as an important member of Hansi Flick’s backline.

Ahead of the Blaugrana’s upcoming La Liga meeting with Levante, the Spaniard therefore sat down for an interview with Catalan outlet TV3.

During the exchange, Martín was drawn on a whole host of topics.

It was one in particular, though, which has since piqued attentions across the Spanish football landscape.

Asked if he would under any circumstances consider swapping Barca for arch rivals Real Madrid, the 23-year-old, as cited by Fabrizio Romano, assured:

“I would not sign for Real Madrid. There are things that money can not buy. I’m very happy here and I’m not planning to leave.”
