Barcelona star tips Lamine Yamal to reach level of Neymar | OneFootball

Barcelona star Raphinha has this weekend revealed his sky high hopes for the career of young teammate Lamine Yamal.

This comes amid the suggestion that, should he continued along his current trajectory, the 17-year-old could match or even surpass the heights reached by Blaugrana icon Neymar.

Wide-man Lamine is of course fresh off a spectacular campaign in Barcelona’s colours.

From his berth on the right flank, the Spaniard terrorised opposing backlines, courtesy of a unique combination of touch, dribbling, vision and flair.

All told, across 55 appearances in all competitions, Lamine directly contributed to a whopping 43 goals.

And as alluded to above, the significance of as much, at such a young age, was not at all lost on one of the starlet’s teammates in Catalunya’s capital.

Speaking during an appearance in front of the media in his native Brazil this weekend, Raphinha revealed that Lamine questioned him on a potential meet-up with ex-Barca star Neymar prior to departing for his summer vacation.

And in concluding his point, the former Leeds United man revealed his take that Lamine ‘can reach anyone, even Neymar’:

“Before Lamine flew to Brazil he asked me: “If I send a message to Neymar, will he reply?” I told him yes he will. I think he did because I saw them together. I think that at the level that Lamine has reached, he can reach anything or anyone he wants, even Neymar.”
