Barcelona star to miss Inter Milan 2nd leg | OneFootball

A leading member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has been all but ruled out of contention to feature in the club’s upcoming meeting with Inter Milan.

That’s according to Blaugrana insider Javier Miguel of Diario AS, who points towards Alejandro Balde as the player in question.

Defender Balde has of course spent the last couple of weeks on the sidelines.

This comes owing to a hamstring injury suffered during a La Liga meeting with Leganés last month.

The hope, initially, was that the 21-year-old would be cleared in time to play at least some part in Barcelona’s victory over Real Valladolid on Saturday.

After Balde was left out once more, however, reports point towards a hitch in the left-back’s recovery.

As per the aforementioned Javier Miguel:

‘Just as everyone assumed Alejandro Balde would be the big news in the squad against Inter Milan, the latest reports from within the dressing room almost completely rule him out for Tuesday.’

Barca boss Hansi Flick, in turn, will be forced to get creative when it comes to his left-back options for his side’s trip to San Siro in two days’ time.
