A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has been ruled out of the club’s upcoming showdown with arch rivals, Real Madrid.
That’s if the latest word stemming from the Polish media is anything to go by, amid an update on the ongoing recovery efforts of Robert Lewandowski.
Frontman Lewandowski is for his part of course condemned to a spell on the sidelines at present.
This comes owing to a muscular injury suffered whilst on international duty earlier this month.
The 37-year-old has since been forced to sit out each of Barcelona’s last two fixtures, victories over Girona and Olympiacos respectively.
And as alluded to above, on Thursday, a fresh insight into Lewandowski’s efforts to return to the pitch has been forthcoming online.
As per a report from Blaugrana insider Gerard Romero, citing Polish outlet Kanał Sportowy:
‘Lewandowski is working to be back for the Elche match. He is recovering well from the injury and wants to return as soon as possible.’
As much, as expected, would mean Lewandowski missing this weekend’s El Clásico, before making his comeback on November 2nd.
