However, according to Mundo Deportivo, Christensen is aiming only to continue his association with Barcelona and hopes to renew, and for this purpose, he is looking to gain Hansi Flick’s trust this season.

Inigo Martinez’s departure from the Catalan team last season can help the Dane in this regard, as now only Pau Cubarsi is a fixed center-back for Flick, and Christensen knows he can lock the other spot by convincing the coach.

He had rejected several approaches, including from the Premier League, for a move, but as things stand, there have also been no meetings between his father, and agent, and the Blaugrana club for a renewal. Thus, for now, it remains to be seen how his future will pan out at Barcelona.
