Barcelona have already parted ways with two players this summer with Alex Valle and Clement Lenglet securing permanent exits while Ansu Fati is on the verge of leaving as well.

More departures are expected in the coming weeks, with fringe players like Pau Victor and Pablo Torre, who are not a big part of Hansi Flick’s plans, expected to follow suit.

Another young talent who is not guaranteed a prominent role in the team next season happens to be teenage right-back Hector Fort.

Fort will not leave

However, according to SPORT, Fort will not entertain any offers to leave Barcelona this summer and is determined to ‘make things difficult’ for Hansi Flick next season by pushing for more minutes.

The La Masia right-back is not considered one of the ‘untouchables’ by Barça. While they will not push him to leave, the club would not prevent his departure either if a future opportunity arises that benefits all parties.

Fort signed a contract with Barcelona in May last year until 2026 with a three-year extension clause which came into effect once he turned 18 years old in August.

It means that the teenager is tied down to the Blaugrana until 30 June 2029, giving the club full contractual security, with four years remaining on his deal.

However, Fort wants more playing time, and Flick cannot guarantee it. After all, Jules Kounde remains the first-choice right-back, and Eric Garcia finished the season strongly in that position.

Despite the situation, the 18-year-old La Masia graduate has no intentions of leaving and is prepared to stay at Barcelona and fight for his place and in turn make it difficult for Flick to leave him out.

Fort already turned down an offer from Ajax back in the winter window. Several clubs have enquired about him, but no talks have progressed due to the player’s express wish to stay.

As things stand, Fort hopes to make his debut at Spotify Camp Nou next season. That is his dream, and he has made it clear he is not interested in any offers.
