Barcelona submit official bid for 24-year-old Borussia Dortmund star – Romano | OneFootball

It seems that FC Barcelona are now looking to pick up the pace in terms of their summer transfer plans. After having completed the signing of Anthony Gordon, the club now seems to be going after another player renowned for his speed and intensity.

As per the ever-reliable Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona have sent in an official bid for Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi. Aged 24, the German forward is currently under contract until 2027 and it seems that the Catalan giants want to take advantage of this.

Moreover, Romano has reported that negotiations are already underway between Barça and the Bundesliga club for the player. Quite the immediate action from La Blaugrana, but there seems to be a justification for it too based on what Romano has stated.

The journalist has clarified that the player himself wants to join Barça this summer and that remains his only objective for now. Keeping that in mind, it would make sense as to why the Spanish side would be eager to wrap up an operation like this as soon as possible and why certain aspects of the operation would move much more smoothly than would normally be expected in a deal for such a player.

Capable of playing multiple positions across the attacking line, Adeyemi can operate as a second striker, a centre-forward, or even on the wings if required. Moreover, as mentioned previously, the player is still just 24 years old and an addition like that to the team could boost intensity and overall energy for a demanding season up ahead.

For now, Barcelona have reportedly already sent in their official bid and are now awaiting a final confirmation from Dortmund as well. As for what this means for the Julian Alvarez situation, only time will tell if one operation directly impacts the other as well.
