FC Barcelona faced off and defeated Valencia 6-0 on Sunday night despite not having some of their most important players, including Lamine Yamal.
The 18-year-old rising superstar missed the game due to pubic discomfort and back issues that prevented him from training with the team after the international break.
Now, according to journalist Adria Albets on Que T’hi Jugues, Lamine Yamal is unlikely to make it back in time for Barcelona’s upcoming game against Newcastle United.
The Blaugrana travel to England to face the Magpies in their first league phase of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League at St. James’ Park on Thursday night.
As per the update, Lamine’s condition is gradually improving, but the young La Masia sensation has yet to fully recover from his discomfort.

As such, the feeling within the club offices is that he will not be ready in time to face the Premier League club later this week.
The youngster will continue to be monitored closely, but at the moment, the situation is looking very tight.
On Sunday, with no Lamine Yamal, Hansi Flick pulled a surprise and started Roony Bardghji on the right flank, handing the youngster his official first-team debut, leaving Raphinha on the bench.
The Brazilian international came off the bench in the second period, though, and grabbed a brace, helping Barcelona win 6-0.
Having been allegedly dropped from the starting lineup due to being late for a pre-match briefing, Raphinha could likely reclaim his spot when Barça face Newcastle if Lamine is not fit.
