Ivan Perisic is on the summer transfer wishlist of FC Barcelona as a potential attacking reinforcement.

The Croatian international, set to become a free agent after playing last season with Eredivisie champions PSV Eindhoven, is a direct request from Hansi Flick. However, there is still no certainty that he will join the Catalan club.

Perisic has shown a strong willingness to sign for Barcelona and is doing everything possible to make the move happen, but time is running out.

June 30 deadline

However, according to Mundo Deportivo, PSV begin their pre-season on 30 June and want clarity on whether they can count on Perisic for next season.

The 36-year-old veteran winger has had a renewal offer on the table from the Dutch giants for several weeks but has not responded, or at least no response has been made official.

There are also no confirmed alternative offers at this time, even from Barcelona, who are taking things slow and have their focus on closing the Joan Garcia signing.

PSV are set to play their first pre-season match on 5 July against Real Union, and on 26 July they will face Athletic Club at the Philips Stadion – a fixture with Champions League-level intensity that requires Peter Bosz to have his squad well defined by then.

As far as Barcelona’s interest is concerned, it is understood that manager Flick is the driving force behind it.

The German tactician knows Perisic well from their time together at Bayern Munich and values what he could bring – not only due to his versatility but also his competitiveness and experience.

Although PSV are pressing him to accept their two-year renewal offer soon, the Croatian international is focused on being fully prepared for the 2026 World Cup.

He believes playing for Barcelona would increase his chances of doing so, which is why he is willing to accept a low salary to make the move possible.
