Barcelona target reaffirms affection for club as Dortmund move nears | OneFootball

With all of their difficulties in getting their preferred player for the center-forward position, Julian Alvarez, FC Barcelona are also keeping some alternatives in mind to remain prepared for the possibility of not being able to land the Argentine this summer.

Among the several names that have been linked with them in this regard in recent months include Eli Junior Kroupi, Goncalo Ramos, and Mikel Oyarzabal. However, the Catalans are clear that they would try their best to land Alvarez first, and if they are still unable to get him, only then will they consider landing any one of these alternatives.

Meanwhile, another player whom they had in their sights was the Hoffenheim forward Fisnik Asllani, who, with his 10 goals and 11 assists, remained one of the more impressive forwards in Bundesliga last season.

Some recent reports have suggested that the player is close to finalizing a move to Borussia Dortmund, and, understandably, might not wait for Barcelona to get done with the Alvarez operation before beginning to consider him.

However, as SPORT has noted, the striker still showed his affection for the Blaugrana club by sharing some images on Instagram, in which he can be seen wearing the Barcelona jersey as a child.

Last season, the Kosovar striker had also publicly declared his affection for the Catalan club, and expressed his dream of playing for them one day.

As things stand, his move to Dortmund is still not complete, and Barcelona can still make a move for him. However, this remains unlikely, as their primary target remains Julian Alvarez, and a decisive development in the saga for the Argentine striker is expected to arrive only after the end of the World Cup, on 19th July, a date when Hansi Flick would already be well underway with his preseason training.
