Barcelona targeting Spotify Camp Nou return after the September international break | OneFootball

Work at Spotify Camp Nou has been progressing reasonably well in recent times with the lawns and seats all being installed in quick succession.

While the stadium may appear to be moving closer to its reopening, however, there appears to be little to no progress in terms of catching up with the deadlines announced.

By this point in the season, Barcelona should have already been playing at the legendary stadium for months and even the postponed deadline of making it to El Clasico is now beyond us. A return this season, in fact, was even ruled a good period of time ago.

The new deadline

The date of return for Barcelona to their home venue has been pushed along a lot so far, and SER now reports that the Catalans are expected to return to the Spotify Camp Nou after the international break in September.

The new season of La Liga is expected to restart in August year and that thus implies that they will continue to await the return for at least the first month of the new season.

In terms of games, that could well pan out to include close to five fixtures which Barcelona have requested to be scheduled away from home until Camp Nou is ready.

The Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys has served as an able foster home for the Blaugrana in recent seasons but the team are clearly awaiting the return to Camp Nou which is one of the best stadiums in the world.

Considering that most of the current team has never played at the venue, it will indeed be a special day when they play at the esteemed stadium for the first time.

With the new LED panels and turf already in place, work is currently being pursued on the stadium entrances, VIP seating and other interiors of the stadium.

Hansi Flick and Co. will hope for the venue to open its doors at the earliest for it boasts of one of Europe’s best atmospheres.
