Barcelona tipped to launch surprise move for Real Sociedad star | OneFootball

Barcelona have early this week been tipped to launch what would be a surprise swoop for Real Sociedad star Álex Remiro.

This comes fresh off an outstanding performance on the part of the shot-stopper against none other than the Blaugrana on Sunday.

Barcelona are of course fresh off a rare defeat last night, by way of a 2-1 downing at Anoeta.

En route to as much, the aforementioned Remiro was in nothing short of superb form in the hosts’ goal, producing a number of brilliant saves.

And if word stemming from the Spanish media 24 hours on is anything to go by, then such excellence does not appear to have gone overlooked in Catalunya’s capital.

As per a report from journalist Ferran Martinez of Mundo Deportivo, the Barcelona board have earmarked Remiro as a potential market opportunity.

Ahead of the expiration of the 30-year-old’s contract terms in San Sebastian in the summer of 2027, the Blaugrana could launch a cut-price move for Remiro upon the close of the current campaign.

Any such move would see the twice-capped Spanish international brought in to act as cover for Joan García, amid uncertainty surrounding the futures of all of Wojciech Szczęsny, Marc-André ter Stegen and Iñaki Peña.
