Barcelona transfer target absent from club’s first day of pre-season training | OneFootball

A member of the summer transfer wishlist at La Liga giants Barcelona played no part in his current club’s first pre-season training session on Monday.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who highlight Marcus Rashford as the player in question.

Frontman Rashford has of course seen his name return to the headlines in Catalunya’s capital with a bang over recent days.

As much comes with the England international back under consideration as a summer addition on the part of Deco and co.

Following Nico Williams’ decision to stay put with Athletic Club, some sources have in fact gone as far as to report that talks are already back underway between Barca and Rashford’s entourage.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from Manchester is anything to go by, then the 27-year-old’s Old Trafford departure appears to be inching closer by the day.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘Manchester United started their preseason this Monday at Carrington, their training ground, on a day marked by a key absence: Marcus Rashford, a player who is of interest to the sporting management of FC Barcelona.’
