FC Barcelona are on the lookout for a new left-winger heading into the summer transfer window.
With the permanent signing of Marcus Rashford looking unlikely as things stand, the Catalans are scouring the market for alternatives to reinforce the left flank before the next season kicks off.
And, one of the names mentioned as a possible target in recent weeks has been that of Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon.
In fact, Barcelona sporting director Deco even held a meeting with the England international’s agent, further fuelling the speculations.
However, according to Fabrizio Romano, as things stand, it is extremely unlikely that Barcelona will sign Gordon from Newcastle in the summer.

The 25-year-old winger has enjoyed a solid season, recording 17 goals and five assists from 46 games across all competitions.
However, he has a contract with the Magpies until the summer of 2030 and is going to be ‘crazy expensive’ to sign in the summer, as per Romano.
Reports suggest the former Everton winger will cost at least €75-85 million, a figure that is likely to be beyond Barcelona’s reach.
Moreover, Gordon is also attracting strong interest from Bayern Munich and some other Premier League clubs, further complicating the picture.
As such, Barcelona are unlikely to move for Gordon despite holding talks with his agent, with the newly-crowned La Liga champions understood to have other targets in mind.
Names like Victor Munoz and Jan Virgili, talents with exposure in La Liga and immense potential, have been touted as options for the Catalan heavyweights.
