The attack is one of the areas of their team that FC Barcelona are looking to strengthen the most in this summer transfer window. There have already been some changes, with the departures of Robert Lewandowski and Marcus Rashford, and the arrival of the English winger Anthony Gordon.
Another forward, Julian Alvarez, is the highest-priority target for the Catalans for the rest of the summer, as they see him as the best-placed candidate to replace the Pole in Hansi Flick’s squad.
Meanwhile, the last few hours have also seen the Blaugranes getting very strongly linked with another striker, the Borussia Dortmund star Karim Adeyemi. Reports suggest that Barcelona already have an agreement in place with the German forward, and just need to arrive at an agreement with Dortmund to complete this transfer, which is expected to cost them around €30 million.
The Blaugranes want to complete this operation as soon as possible, and Flick would like to have him under his orders when the team travels to England for their preseason training camp.
However, despite this operation being close to completed, MARCA claims that this is not going to affect their operation for Julian Alvarez, who still remains their top target for the summer. They are set to make a decisive move for him once the World Cup 2026 ends, and they will have to put in a bigger offer after having already made an offer of €100 million for him.
The report goes on to claim that Barcelona have the financial capacity to address both these operations this summer, especially after their return to the 1:1 status. They also have signed Gordon from Newcastle United €70 million fixed and promised another €10 million in variables, and are also looking to land Joao Cancelo from Al-Hilal, who is expected to cost them another €10 million.
