As Barcelona take on Elche this weekend, all eyes will be on Lamine Yamal, who has endured a tough few weeks.
While injuries have marred his progress, the forward’s personal life has remained a focus for the Spanish footballing media. This has impacted the overall performance of Yamal.
However, the forward is hopeful of turning the tide when Barcelona play hosts to Elche at Montjuic tomorrow.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Lamine is excited to regain his level and is determined to redeem himself after a muted performance in last Sunday’s Clasico.
The 18-year-old was carrying groin pain into the match, which prevented him from showing his best form.
With a full week to recover, the player underwent a special program prepared for him by the technical staff alongside group training sessions.

This personalised plan was designed to get him back to 100% and includes physiotherapy sessions both before and after training.
This extra work is starting to bear fruit. In videos shared by the club from this week’s sessions, Lamine appeared in training at maximum energy, extremely active and shooting the ball without any signs of pain.
This is a stark contrast to how he appeared during the Clasico, where he visibly struggled to challenge defenders.
After a week filled with off-field noise, the club’s attacking star wants to refocus on the ball again. He has confirmed to the club that he no longer feels any pain and is eager to regain his importance to the team.
This could bode well for Barcelona as they look to get back on track with a win over Elche this weekend.
