Barcelona youngster could be handed first senior call-up for pre-season training | OneFootball

The first-team coaching staff at La Liga champions Barcelona are giving serious consideration to affording a call-up to Orian Goren this summer.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have this week provided an insight into the situation.

Youngster Goren, for his part, is a 17-year-old midfielder, who has long been considered one of the standout gems in Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy.

Despite his tender years, Goren has already been likened to the likes of Pedri and Andrés Iniesta, owing to his technical talents, vision, and ability to control the tempo of games from his berth in the middle of the park.

And such gifts, it would appear, have not gone unnoticed on the part of Hansi Flick and his staff…

As per a report from Sport, amid ongoing planning for this summer’s pre-season schedule:

‘Goren has all the numbers to be part of the first team’s pre-season tour, an opportunity that would allow him to take his first steps with the elite and continue to show why he is called to be one of the names of the future of FC Barcelona.’
