Barcelona youngster linked with surprise loan move to Rangers | OneFootball

Barcelona could see one of their emerging academy talents take the next step in his career away from Spain before the winter transfer window closes. 

According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, young winger Dani Rodriguez has been linked with a possible loan move to Rangers.

At just 20 years of age, Dani has become one of the standout performers for Barça Atletic, attracting attention from clubs across Europe. 

With the final stretch of the winter transfer window approaching, the winger has several options on the table as he looks to continue his development at a higher competitive level.

Interest is not limited

Interest in the young winger is not new. Earlier in the window, Dinamo Zagreb were linked with the La Masia product, highlighting the growing reputation he has built beyond Spain. 

Now, Rangers are exploring the market for attacking reinforcements, with a particular focus on wide players who can add pace, creativity, and unpredictability in the final third.

According to local reports, their manager, Danny Rohl, could look to use his personal connections to help push the deal forward. 

Rohl previously worked closely with Hansi Flick, both during their time at Bayern Munich and later with the German national team. 

That relationship could be key in smoothing negotiations with Barcelona, particularly if the deal involves a short-term loan rather than a permanent exit.

From Dani’s perspective, with competition for places in Barcelona’s first team extremely high, his immediate pathway to senior minutes is currently blocked. 

As a result, the winger is keen to test himself in a more demanding environment where regular playing time is available. 

A move to Rangers would, thus, provide exposure to a physical league, high-pressure matches, and a passionate fanbase, all of which could accelerate his growth.
