An up-and-coming member of the defensive setup at La Liga champions Barcelona has on Thursday taken his talents to Italy.
This comes amid the understanding that Andrés Cuenca has put pen to paper on a contract with Serie A outfit Como, managed by ex-Blaugrana star Cesc Fàbregas.
Cuenca, for those not familiar with his name, is a 19-year-old defender, who chiefly operates in a central role.
The starlet has been plying his trade on the books of Barcelona since all the way back in 2019, and was afforded his first taste of senior football during a loan with Sporting Gijón in Spanish football’s 2nd tier last season.
Prior to departing Catalunya’s capital back in February, Cuenca penned a Blaugrana contract extension through the summer of 2027.
But as alluded to above, less than six months on, the stopper has made the call to move on, this time round on a permanent basis.
As per a report from market insider Fabrizio Romano, after an agreement was reached between Barca and Como on the terms of a transfer worth €700,000, Cuenca on Thursday signed his contract at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia.
