FC Barcelona have been dealt a double injury blow today as Joan Garcia and Raphinha have been hit with fitness problems, sidelining the pair at least until the international break.
Raphinha suffered a hamstring issue during last night’s game against Real Oviedo and had to be subbed off in the second period, with tests now confirming an injury.
As for Garcia, the goalkeeper is understood to have sustained his injury during the training session this morning.
Now, according to journalist Ferran Martinez on Mundo Deportivo, Joan Garcia’s injury is related to the meniscus in his knee.
While the issue is understood to be minor, the club medical staff is evaluating whether surgery is necessary or if it can be resolved with conservative treatment.

It must be noted that Gavi has also been sidelined due to a meniscus issue. After suffering the injury in August, the midfielder opted against surgery and stuck with conservative treatment, which did not yield the desired result.
In fact, the issue only worsened, and ultimately, Gavi had to undergo surgery this week, and is now out for five months, when he could have initially been out for only five weeks.
As such, Barcelona are considering all possible avenues before making a decision on the next course of action.
In fact, the latest update suggests that Garcia is likely to undergo arthroscopic intervention, much like Gavi. In that scenario, he could be out for a period of five weeks.
If so, the goalkeeper would end up missing some very important matches, including the ones against PSG and Real Madrid, with his return likely to happen in November.
An official update on the matter is awaited.
