At Barcelona, it is now almost certain that the Joan Gamper Trophy will not be held at the Spotify Camp Nou on 10 August, as the necessary opening permits for the venue will not be issued in time.
However, the club insists that this delay will not affect the return to La Liga’s 1:1 rule, according to SPORT.
To return to the 1:1 rule, Barcelona need the completion certificate from construction company Limak for the VIP seating area so that this asset can be considered tangible.
This would activate the transaction agreed in December, which secured €100 million in income from the sale of these seats.
This was the condition required by the club’s auditor, Crowe, which previously excluded the revenue from financial statements because the seats had not yet been built.
The VIP seats are nearly finished, as are many parts of the stadium, and Limak is expected to certify their completion.
Now, even if the seats are not operational until September, when the Camp Nou return is being targeted now, they will be considered complete, which will validate the transaction and allow the revenue to be included in the financial report submitted to La Liga.

This €100 million inflow will enable Barcelona to comply with the 1:1 rule and operate freely in the transfer market.
Barcelona are now awaiting this critical document and have worked intensively to prepare the stadium section where the VIP seats are located. Limak is on track to meet the deadlines after several intense months of construction.
This part of the Camp Nou was a top priority due to its financial impact. La Liga representatives who have inspected the site have confirmed that the area is nearly ready.
Barcelona expect to receive final confirmation from La Liga regarding their revised salary cap in the first week of August.
With revenue already generated from player departures and significant cost savings, the club is in a position to register Joan Garcia and the renewals, such as that of Lamine Yamal.
From there, further income, either through player sales or commercial and sponsorship agreements, such as the pending deal with the Democratic Republic of the Congo, will be required to register additional players.
The sporting department remains confident there will be enough salary margin to make a key signing, particularly the much-desired winger.
