Barcelona’s match against Crvena Zvezda in Belgrade was a truly remarkable display of skill and dominance, and tennis legend Novak Djokovic was fortunate enough to witness it firsthand.
In fact, according to a report from Mundo Deportivo, the Serbian icon was left in awe of Barcelona’s performance, as they showed their superiority on the field much like Djokovic has often shown his dominance in tennis.
Barcelona’s attack was relentless, with five goals scored and several other attempts hitting the post. Djokovic was particularly impressed by the individual brilliance of several players.
Lamine Yamal’s explosive play caught his eye, as did Pedri’s exceptional control of the ball in midfield. Another standout was Jules Kounde, who, with his three assists, proved once again that he is more than capable as a full-back, despite previous doubts.

Furthermore, Marc Casado and Frenkie de Jong were also outstanding, with their work in the midfield double pivot showing that no one can easily take the ball from them.
As for Barcelona’s forward line, Robert Lewandowski continued to show why he is regarded as one of the best finishers in the game. The Polish striker scored twice, inching closer to his 100th Champions League goal.
Although he missed a few chances, including a one-on-one with the goalkeeper and a blocked shot from Yamal, the Poland international’s natural goal-scoring instinct was evident when he pounced on a loose ball that had rebounded off the post to score.
In all, it was a complete performance from Barcelona, with contributions from players across the pitch. Djokovic’s admiration for the team’s play only highlights the level of excellence Barcelona are currently showing in European football.
