The Higher Sports Council (CSD) has granted FC Barcelona the precautionary measure to register Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor, thus resolving weeks of uncertainty surrounding their status with the club.
The duo will now be able to participate in the upcoming Spanish Super Cup final against Real Madrid. But the decision has not gone down well with many, with La Liga president Javier Tebas notably taking a swipe at the verdict.
Barcelona, for their part, will be more than happy to have received the precautionary measure, failing which could have led to some unforeseen circumstances.
In fact, several Spanish players at Barcelona were willing to go on strike if the star player Dani Olmo hadn’t been registered.
In a recent episode of Esport3’s ‘Onze’ (h/t Diario SPORT), it has been revealed that several Barcelona players, who represent the Spanish national team were ready to stage an “act of disobedience” by not answering the call for the Spanish national team in March.

These concerned players include Gavi, Pedri, Casado, Cubarsi, Lamine Yamal, and Fermin – all of who are considered vital for La Roja.
This was in solidarity with Olmo, who played a crucial role in Spain’s Euro victory last summer with 3 goals and 2 assists.
Maroto suggested that these players might have cited minor injuries or discomforts as reasons for their potential absence from the national team, aiming to pressure the RFEF into action.
However, with the CSD’s decision, this tense scenario was avoided, ensuring Barcelona could field not only Olmo but also Victor in crucial upcoming matches.
