A recent report from SPORT has offered a comprehensive update about Barcelona’s loan players, who are expected to return to the club at the end of the season.

Last summer, Barça loaned out four players in the form of Vitor Roque, Alex Valle, Clement Lenglet and Oriol Romeu.

However, Roque has already joined permanently Palmeiras and is, therefore, not a Barcelona player anymore.

As for the other three, the report suggests coach Hansi Flick will sit down with sporting director Deco and decide their futures at the end of the season.

Clement Lenglet

Clement Lenglet has been quite successful since joining Atletico Madrid on loan last summer. The Frenchman has established himself as a key component in Diego Simeone’s defence, showing form not seen since his Sevilla days.

Keeping that in mind, Barcelona will try to sell him in the coming summer as he is not a part of Flick’s plans for the season ahead.

Lenglet’s market value stands at around €7-10 million, and it is quite possible that Atletico Madrid might pay that amount to get their hands on Lenglet permanently.

Alex Valle

Valle has had quite the adventure since leaving Barcelona on loan last summer. He had initially joined Celtic, but left the Scottish giants to join Como on loan during the January transfer window.

Valle has done well at Como and is a part of Cesc Fabregas’ plans. Barcelona, therefore, will hope Como pay up his €6 million release clause to retain his services.

From a sporting perspective, Valle has no place in the Barcelona team thanks to Alejandro Balde, Gerard Martin and Jofre Torrents, who will be a part of the team’s pre-season campaign in the summer.

Oriol Romeu

Oriol Romeu could be a tough nut to crack for Barcelona, especially when it comes to finding a potential buyer.

The veteran midfielder returned to Girona on loan last summer but has not been able to showcase the same form as he did under Michel two years ago.

Therefore, it remains doubtful whether or not Girona would like to buy the player or even extend his loan spell, for that matter.

Keeping that in mind, Barcelona will remain open to the sale of the midfielder or in the worst-case scenario, find another loan deal, which could result in a significant salary reduction for the player.
