Newcastle United clashed heads with Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium earlier today as they hoped to secure all three points on the road in the Premier League. The Magpies made a good start to the game and scored the opening goal in the 27th minute when Harvey Barnes scored with a great finish. Eddie Howe’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.

Kevin Schade equalised for the Bees in the 56th minute. Dan Burn was sent off by the referee in the 73rd minute before Igor Thiago scored from the penalty spot just five minutes later. Thiago scored again in injury time as the contest ended with Newcastle suffering a poor 3-1 loss away from home.

CB: Sven Botman – 6/10

He made a lot of crucial clearances inside his half but failed to keep the Brentford attackers quiet in the second half.
