Alvaro Barreal and Gabriel Bontempo trained as normal with the squad at CT Rei Pelé on Tuesday morning. Both are available to Santos and could be named for Wednesday's Brasileirão opener at Chapecoense, 20:00 at Arena Condá.
According to Diario Do Peixe, Barreal has overcome a hip trauma, while Bontempo has recovered from muscle oedema in his left hamstring.
The Argentine was late to be registered on the BID and only made his season bow in the Paulistão clássico against Palmeiras, starting that game. He also started against Guarani and scored, featured against Corinthians, then missed Bragantino.
Bontempo has yet to play this year. He missed the early state rounds while recovering from a septoplasty to correct a deviated septum, a procedure to improve his breathing. When he was about to rejoin group training he sustained the muscle oedema, but is now in contention.
Santos still have four absentees. Gustavo Henrique has a right adductor muscle injury, Willian Arão is recovering from surgery to remove a kidney stone, Thaciano has muscle oedema in his right hamstring, and Tiquinho Soares, who is close to terminating his contract, has oedema in his left calf.
