Bild reports that Bayer Leverkusen are in advanced talks with Oliver Glasner’s representatives over the head coach role.
After Bayer Leverkusen’s top candidate to replace Kasper Hjulmand as head coach, Filipe Luís, seemingly chose AS Monaco instead, Glasner has emerged as the frontrunner at the BayArena.
The Austrian is set to leave Crystal Palace this summer. He is said to be open to taking the role, with talks expected to firm up as soon as Friday.
If Leverkusen fail to reach an agreement with Glasner, departing AFC Bournemouth coach Andoni Iraola is said to be the backup option.
Glasner previously coached VfL Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga.
Hjulmand remains under contract until 2027 but appears to have no future at the BayArena, with the club expected to announce his departure once a successor is finalised.
