Bayer Leverkusen ‘to negotiate’ Alejandro Grimaldo sale for about €10m | OneFootball

Bayer Leverkusen are ready to discuss the sale of Alejandro Grimaldo for about €10m, with one year left on his contract.

According to Glorioso 1904, Barcelona and Atlético Madrid have already shown interest in the 30-year-old full-back.

Grimaldo has not hidden a desire to return to Spanish football, saying recently he wants to play in La Liga for an important club in Spain.

After eight standout seasons at Benfica, he joined Leverkusen in 2023/24 and quickly became a leading figure under Xabi Alonso. In his debut campaign he delivered 12 goals and 17 assists, helping win the Bundesliga and the German Cup.

His form continued in 2025/26, with 46 appearances, 14 goals and 12 assists underscoring his status in the squad. His future is set to remain a talking point in the coming weeks.
